Upper Ngau Tau Kok Estate Phases 2 & 3
This public housing project involved redevelopment of six 41 to 43-storey non-standard domestic tower blocks, incorporating a total of 4,584 flats, a commercial centre with roof garden, two elevated decks for carpark and emergency vehicular access. Various functional buildings such as a youth centre, an estate management office, and an elderly centre were also built.
The project won several awards:
−Award of Outstanding Performance, Building Sites (Public Sector) Category − Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme 2006/2007;
−Wastewi$e Label − 2008 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (“Class of Good”); and
−Outstanding Building Project Award − Quality Public Housing Construction & Maintenance Award 2009 (New Works Projects).
In August 2012, it also received BEAM’s highest rating, the “Platinum Standard” certification of the Business Environment Council.
