Paul Y. Engineering wins Asia Pacific Project Management Awards 20162016-11-25
Paul Y. - Yau Lee Joint Venture has won the Asia Pacific Project Management Awards 2016 – Construction/Engineering Award of the Asia Pacific Federation of Project Management (APFPM) for the Studio City project.
Studio City, for which the Paul Y Engineering Group Ltd. was the lead contractor, is the most diversified and cinematically-themed integrated resort in Asia. It is Asia's first building complex to integrate TV and film production facilities with retail, gaming and hotel facilities.
The project comprises lower ground level, four podium levels and two 37-41 storey hotel towers providing about 1,600 hotel rooms, on a site area of 130,789 square meters and construction floor area of 450,000 square meters. The project was scheduled for completion in 31 months – a challenging target in terms of size and resources. It was completed ahead of schedule, in just 28 months.
Throughout construction of Studio City, the project team's approach was to plan ahead so difficulties could be anticipated and addressed well in advance; to review work constantly in line with site progress, searching for opportunities for improvement and enhancement; and to streamline wherever practicable. Obstacles became opportunities, and achievements regularly exceeded expectations.
