Paul Y. Engineering wins four awards for Kai Tak Fire Station Development Project2015-05-04
Paul Y. Engineering has been honoured with four respected industry awards for the Kai Tak Fire Station Development project . The project won the Asia Pacific Project Management Achievement Awards -- Community Service and/or Regional Development Award of the Asia Pacific Federation of Project Management (APFPM). It also topped the Hong Kong Institute of Project Management (HKIPM) Management Achievement Awards in three categories: Project of the Year 2014, Construction and Engineering, and Community Service and/or Regional Development.
The Kai Tak Fire Station Development project commenced in July 2011 and was completed in June 2013. It comprised management of the construction of a 6-8 storey L-shaped building to house a fire station with an ambulance facility cum urban search and rescue equipment store, and incorporated greening and environmentally harmonious building design concepts for sustainability. For example, natural daylight was introduced into the interior through large windows and skylights composed of heat insulating glass.
As the main contractor, PYE applied principles of energy and resource efficiency right from the start of the bidding process, and set in place a number of low-carbon, waste reduction and pollution prevention practices. The awards recognise our ability to successfully meet clients’ green building construction goals.
